For this studio project, we set out to make an animated gif of the winner of each stage of the 2018 Tour de France - within 24 hours of the stage ending. Just like the race it was exhausting, exhilarating and things didn’t always go to plan - but we made it to Paris in the end.

By far the most popular #TourdeGif was ‘Stage 666’ which was knocked out in 5 mins after doing silly things with the proportions of the cyclists. It’s always the way - don’t overthink it, just have some fun!

The animations were featured on the Guardian website and widely shared on Twitter and Instagram.
